Tips On Energy Conservation
Posted by reneemoz, under Home ProductsAre the rising energy bill bending you out of shape? Here are a few tricks and tips that can help you save money on electricity costs. Whether you’re out to save the world one kilowatt at a time or you simply want to reduce on energy cost, it doesn’t matter. The world can always benefit from any energy saving step one single person takes. Simple energy saving tips you can follow are provided below and some of them come from Earth4Energy by Michael Harvey, Green DIY Energy Guide and the USDOE.
For starters, you can start with your lighting system. Energy saving lamps can save you money on energy costs. With ordinary lamps, only little of the energy consumed are actually converted to light, most are just turned into heat. Better efficiency is achieved with energy saving bulbs.
Now we usually hear tips like “turn off the lights when not in use” but this may not always be the best advice to follow. When you constantly use the on-off switch, you actually lessen the life span of your lamps which translates to more replacements and more money spent and energy used by companies to make them. In a nutshell, that amounts to lessened efficiency, heightened cost and more waste. A basic rule of thumb you can go by that the government suggests is this: When you leave the room for less than 15 minutes, leave the light on. Otherwise, turning the lights off would be the better option. It’s also a good idea to check your bill and compare kwh charges for when you are turning the lights on and off many times a day to when you just leave the lights on for a better lamp life. This is especially helpful in areas with higher electricity charges.
Cleaning lamps and fixtures every 3 to 6 months or when dust have noticeably gathered is one easy practice you can get into. Dust will obviously make it harder for your lighting system to illuminate a room. Another help you can provide for your lamps to effectively and efficiently illuminate your home is through the use of light-colored paints inside your home. Brighter illumination also results from good reflection and you can make sure that your walls do these by always making it a point to repaint and clean your rooms as necessary.
Lastly, there is simply nothing better than taking advantage of the natural lighting the sun offers during daytime. A good daylighting technique allows you to keep the daylight in but not necessarily keep the heat that goes with it. One guideline to help ensure you’ll achieve this is to keep your windows facing north or south and never east or west. If you are really serious about saving as much energy as you can, you can consider making a solar panel. This Green DIY Energy Guide Review at ReviewMOZ.org provides a guide on how you can make your own solar panel at a fraction of a cost. You can make one and use it to power some of your appliances or lights at home.

What Are Sing-A-Ma-Jigs?
Posted by alisonthompsonn, under Home ProductsSing-A-Ma-Jigs are a clever product with a clever name to match. Introduced in the Spring of 2010, this new toy made by Mattel’s Fisher-Price division could be one of the most popular toys of the year! Products made by Fisher-Price are typically made to appeal to the very young, usually infants and toddlers. However, in my most recent trip to the toy department of one local department store, my experience seemed to indicate that nearly everyone was falling in love with these quirky playthings!
What is a Sing-A-Ma-Jig? The toy’s name is a very good basic description of it the toy, itself. It is a small plush item, about seven inches tall, that “sings” when you press its middle. Silly? Yes! Fun? Undeniably!
Not easily definable as either a human or animal form, it most resembles the “Mr. Bill” character from the old Saturday Night Live television show, largely because it has a round mouth, which moves along with the singing, just as the mouth was the only moving part on the claymation Mr. Bill figure. Originally released in four colors, each performing a classic song, such as “Home On The Range” or “Skip To My Lou”, these squeezable characters fit in the palm of almost any hand, large or small. They’re collectible, because each sings a different song and comes in a different color. Additionally each has a different “voice”, but all will harmonize perfectly with the others! Each version of the toy will sing either note-by-note, sing their own song or chatter in their own special way. The second release adds five more characters to the original chorus.
When I first picked up the Sing-A-Ma-Jig in the toy department and started to play with it, my 10-year-old said, “That’s so cute! I want one!” As we experimented with some of the other figures, a pair of college-aged girls approached us. They were laughing out loud and said that one of the girls’ parents had given them Sing-A-Ma-Jigs as a graduation gift. They heard us playing with them in the store and immediately picked up some of the dolls and started pressing their tummies! Before we knew it, we were all laughing and attracting more attention from other amused shoppers!
Although the toy is the only thing that comes in the box; no accessories or anything else, the price point is not the least of this toy’s broad appeal. The pure entertainment that Sing-A-Ma-Jigs provide is easily worth the price. However, as I look online for outlets carrying this cute commodity, I am already seeing prices rise. It seems that the word is spreading! So, if a solo Sing-A-Ma-Jig or an entire chorus of them is on the Christmas list of someone you love, act now! This could be the hottest trend in toys for 2010!

High Quality Lawnmowers are good for your Garden
Posted by openair supplies, under UncategorizedIn this article I will explain why a petrol lawnmower is better for your garden.
There are many different lawnmowers on the market, they come in all shapes and sizes, colours, makes and models, and each have their own different feature depending on manufacturer.
Small and powerful lawnmowers are perfect for small to medium sized lawns, manoeuvrable petrol powered lawnmower are a joy to use. Precision cutting and classic stripes can be achieved with ease. Depending on the make and model, expensive petrol lawnmowers provide many exciting features to give you real assistance in the garden.
When it comes to looking at lawnmowers, you need to be aware that they all come with features that are unique to certain manufacturers, such as keyless starting and makes of engine used. Cheap budget lawnmowers are not ideal for any lawn.
Petrol lawnmowers should always be considered, they are more versatile and you don’t have to worry about dragging a cable around with you everywhere. They give the extra power you need to get into those awkward places. Petrol canisters will need to be stored somewhere, but you will be surprised how far you can get on just one tank full.
Electric lawnmowers are slightly more hazardous, having a trailing cable behind you can cause an accident, especially when the grass is wet, limiting you to certain times when the lawn can actually be mown.
Features worth looking at:
-Easy to remove handlebars for easy storage.
-A detachable grassbag that can easily be emptied when full. Most of the higher quality mowers will certainly feature an option for this to be removed.
-Easily adjustable cutting blades control the ride height over the grass, rough areas can be cut with no added effort.
-A split differential ribbed rear roller gives good output, easy turning and a perfectly striped finish.
-A solid underbody and shell, adding extra durability to the lawnmower, easy cleaning and reduced noise output.
-OPC (Operator Presence Control) for safe operation. If you accidently let go of the lawnmower it will automatically cut out reducing the risk of any danger from the mechanical parts.
-Variable ground speed options enable the user a mow at various speeds to suit different conditions and operator preferences. You can mow at a slow pace if you want to extra care and spend time doing your lawn, or if you prefer much faster due to time constraints then this is a great option.
You should really choose a Lawn Mower with a detachable grass bag as sometimes they can get clogged up a bit, so having one that can be removed with ease is a great feature for when it comes to cleaning. Alternatively, the mower can be used without a bag and thrown out the back. Raked grass is great for the compost heap!
Another thing to consider is the size of the mower, expensive ones are generally bulkier so make sure you have room to place it!
In general, cheap lawnmowers do not have all the important features you need to sustain a good quality lawn, unlike the high quality petrol counterparts. Cabled lawnmowers pose a hugh healtyh and safety risk; the lawn mower is more likely to break down when using on a larger grass areas; tougher materials used in the construction of the lawnmower help in those hard to reach spots that require more power; easily adjustable cutting blades enable grass to be cut with no extra effort needed, and a high quality lawnmower will almost certainly have a longer manufacturer’s guarantee with it.
The preferred choice of lawnmower for any garden lawn should be a petrol based cylinder lawnmower, you can pretty much do what you like with the mower, and you can achieve wonderful looking striped gardens to impress the neighbours!
When it comes to looking at lawnmowers, you need to be aware that they all come with features that are unique to certain manufacturers, such as keyless starting and makes of engine used. Cheap budget lawnmowers are not ideal for any lawn.
If you want to find out more about expensive Hayter Lawnmowers that will impress, such as the Hayter 41 then you can head on over to my review page for more information.

The Hayter Harrier 41 lawnmower is truely amazing and a must have for everybody’s garden.
A Chess Set – The Classic Gift
Posted by alisonthompsonn, under Home ProductsOne thing that most people don’t think to buy for their children is a chess set. Many think that chess is an old game that no one plays any longer, and there really aren’t many that are interested. Truthfully though, if you were to buy one for your child, and if you take the time to play with them, there are benefits for the both of you that you might not realize right away.
A chess set is more than a game. It takes a lot of thinking to get through a game and actually win. It is something like checkers, but much more complicated. In fact, some might say that the only thing similar between the two is that they have the same look about their playing board. Whatever the case, a chess set will require more time and patience than learning to play chess. However, the benefits of this game far exceed anything that checkers could ever do.
Playing with a chess set requires the players to think far in advance of the present move they are going to make. That means they have to use the power of reasoning and logic to make any move. This is something that we all learn in time, but some learn earlier than others. Those who grow up with a chess set might indeed have an advantage. The reason so many teenagers get into trouble is not because they are bad kids, but because they have not learned to think about beyond what they are doing. Learning chess could help change that in some kids. Thinking beyond the moment may become automatic, and they can then begin to make better choices.
A chess set certainly won’t keep teens from making mistakes, but learning to think ahead might keep them out of some problems. It’s an abstract thought, but there is certainly no harm in teaching a child to play. There are other great things they can get from a chess set as well. They learn to play and take turns, and they learn to win or lose with grace. They will also learn that they mean a lot to you if you take time out of your week to play with them. It’s funny to think about some of the things that have lasted through the centuries. Usually there is more to them than just the obvious, as is the case with the game of chess.
